
Over 3.5 Million Vehicles Inspected by Traffic Teams in One Week

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has revealed the results of a week-long traffic inspection in a recent social media post. According to the data shared by Yerlikaya, the Safety and Gendarmerie Traffic teams conducted inspections on 3,541,972 vehicles from February 27 to March 6, 2025.
The inspections resulted in several violations, including 17,062 drivers caught operating vehicles without a license. Additionally, 61 drivers were fined for using devices (flashes) that are not allowed by legislation. Speeding violations accounted for 149,309 cases, while 29,367 drivers were found to have skipped periodic examinations. Furthermore, 26,462 individuals were penalized for not wearing seat belts, and 8,997 drivers were caught using vehicles without compulsory financial responsibility insurance. Overall, a total of 528,511 vehicles were subjected to various penalties and fines.
Minister Yerlikaya took the opportunity to remind the public to adhere to traffic rules, avoid speeding, and always wear seat belts while driving. He emphasized the importance of safe driving practices by stating, “Journeys are meant to bring you to your loved ones, not to separate you.”
The Minister’s message serves as a crucial reminder for all drivers to prioritize road safety and responsible driving behavior.As a result, we should all strive to contribute to safer roads and reduce the risk of accidents through responsible driving habits.
