Minister of Justice Emphasizes Success of Mediation in Resolving Legal Disputes

Minister of Justice Tunç highlighted the positive impact of mediation in the legal system, stating that since its introduction in 2013, over 6 million disputes have been successfully resolved through this method. He emphasized the importance of alternative dispute resolution methods and the efforts to further develop mediation and conciliation institutions.

The success rate of mediation was reported to be 65 percent, with over 4 million files resulting in agreements after negotiations were completed. Minister Tunç also mentioned the compulsory implementation of mediation in labor, commercial, and consumer disputes, recognizing its effectiveness in resolving conflicts quickly and cost-effectively.

In labor disputes, the success rate was 49 percent, with agreements reached in 1,077,534 out of 2,185,432 files. Commercial disputes saw a success rate of 40 percent, with 334,440 out of 839,764 files resulting in agreements. Consumer disputes also showed promising results, with 160,995 out of 434,350 files being resolved through mediation.

Furthermore, rental disputes had a success rate of 47 percent, with 110,055 out of 234,535 files reaching agreements. Voluntary mediation showed an impressive agreement rate of 97 percent, with 2,369,702 out of 2,442,282 files resulting in agreements.

Overall, Minister Tunç expressed his commitment to further developing the mediation system, which he described as peaceful, friendly, and beneficial in protecting the rights of citizens.
