Özel to visit TRNC for 50th anniversary of Cyprus Peace Operation
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Chairman Tufan Erhürman and Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel held a joint press conference after their meeting at the CHP Headquarters, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
During the press conference, Özel mentioned that he had a productive meeting with Erhürman and his delegation in Nicosia on November 15. They discussed various topics including the relations between TRNC and Turkey, as well as their upcoming visit to TRNC on the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
Özel also highlighted the historical significance of the Cyprus Peace Operation, which was managed by CHP’s 3rd Chairman, Prime Minister Bülent Ecevit. He mentioned that there are 3 ministers from that cabinet who are still alive and expressed his intention to visit TRNC with them.
The CHP delegation, including Özel and CTP, will be visiting Cyprus before the ceremonies to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. They aim to strengthen the relations between their parties and work together for the benefit of both Cyprus and Turkey.
Özel emphasized the importance of maintaining solidarity between the two parties and continuing to support the just cause of the TRNC. He expressed his optimism for a future where both parties could come to power in their respective countries and work towards a better future for Cyprus and Turkey.
