Özersay vows to take stolen vehicle issue to legal authorities – BRTK

The People’s Party (HP) Chairman, Kudret Özersay, has raised concerns about the Ministry of Finance’s alleged use of stolen cars as official vehicles. In a recent statement, Özersay pointed out that while the Ministry of Finance acknowledged this practice, it goes against the laws of the country as per the opinions of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Calling for an end to this illegal practice, Özersay emphasized the need for the Ministry of Finance to adhere to established state practices and legal opinions provided by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office over the years. He questioned whether the Ministry of Finance had received any new opinions from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on this matter.
Özersay highlighted that the law clearly defines the duties of the Real Estate and Materials Department, stating that the allocation of stolen vehicles as official cars is not within their jurisdiction. Additionally, he mentioned that according to the Customs and Production Law, such goods should be sold or disposed of after a certain period of time.
Expressing his determination to uphold the rule of law, Özersay stated that they would seek intervention from legal authorities if necessary. He emphasized the importance of respecting existing laws and opinions from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, urging the Ministry of Finance to refrain from making arbitrary decisions contrary to them.
In conclusion, Özersay reiterated the need for the state to uphold the rule of law and stressed that actions contrary to legal provisions would not be tolerated. The HP Chairman’s firm stance serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to legal norms and established procedures in the administration of state affairs.
