Öztürkler Political Party Group Given 2-Week Deadline to Name Committee
Ziya Öztürkler, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, recently made important statements regarding the abolition of immunity in Parliament. During an interview on the ’18th hour’ program aired on BRT, Öztürkler emphasized that they will always act according to the internal regulations, especially when it comes to the abolition of immunity based on a report from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The President highlighted that the internal regulation dictates the formation of a temporary committee to address the issue of the abolition of immunity. This committee will consist of deputies from 3 UBP and 2 CTP. Öztürkler also mentioned that the members from CTP have already been identified, while UBP will determine their representatives soon. Once the committee is established, the political party groups will have 2 weeks to name the committee as per the internal regulation.
