Interior Minister Ziya Öztürkler Discusses Advantages of E-visa Automation System
In a recent interview on the ’17th Hour’ program at BRT, Interior Minister Ziya Öztürkler shed light on the benefits of the e-visa automation system and its importance in maintaining public security.
Öztürkler emphasized the government’s commitment to zero tolerance when it comes to public security, particularly in relation to deportations. He noted that not only are most deportations successfully carried out, but entry bans are also imposed on individuals who pose a potential threat to national security upon entering the country.
Addressing the criticisms received by the government concerning certain sectors, Öztürkler highlighted the implementation of red and blue bulletins, as well as coordination with Interpol to effectively deal with individuals sought for criminal activities. Such individuals are promptly sent out of the country to ensure public safety.
Minister Öztürkler underlined the significance of preventing potential problems related to public safety, even as tourists and students continue to visit the country. To achieve this, he explained that the e-visa automation system plays a crucial role in conducting thorough background checks on individuals entering the country for educational or business purposes.
Öztürkler revealed that the second phase of the system has been successfully concluded, with ongoing trials. He further announced that the test phase would commence with a specific country in mid-July, aiming to fully transition to the e-visa automation system by August.
The e-visa automation system is expected to streamline the process of obtaining visas while enhancing the country’s ability to ensure public safety.
