Palestinian Cultural Performance Shut Down in Germany Over Arabic Music

Hundreds of people gathered in the square near the Wittenbergplatz Metro Station in Germany to show their support for Palestine. The demonstration featured slogans such as “Stop the aggression in the West Bank-Do not supply weapons to Israel” and saw participants waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners with messages like “Gaza is not for sale” and “Freedom to Palestine”.

However, the Palestinian show was abruptly terminated when Arabic music was played, as the police deemed it forbidden. Despite warnings against shouting Arabic slogans or speaking, some demonstrators continued to do so, leading to the intervention of the police.

A total of 250 police officers were present at the demonstration, which was attended by around 300 people. More than 50 demonstrators refused to leave the square and staged a sit-in protest, resulting in several detentions by the police.

The authorities had strictly prohibited any slogans in languages other than German and English, as well as the use of Arabic music during the demonstration. Extensive security measures were put in place to ensure the safety of all participants and maintain order during the event.
