Hamas Accepts Ceasefire Proposal in Gaza Strip
A ceasefire proposal approved by Hamas has been revealed by a Palestinian official, who chose to remain anonymous. The proposal consists of three phases, spanning a total of 124 days. The first phase involves a temporary halt to the mutual attacks between both parties and the relocation of Israeli soldiers to the eastern regions of Gaza, away from densely populated areas.
In the initial phase, Israeli female captives will be released on the 7th day, and Israeli soldiers will withdraw from key streets in Gaza to allow for the entry of humanitarian aid and the return of displaced individuals to their homes. Movement within Gaza will also be restored.
The second phase will see the release of more prisoners and the initiation of arrangements for sustainable peace. The third and final phase will involve the exchange of deceased prisoners and the implementation of a 5-year development plan for Gaza.
Head of the Hamas Movement’s Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, has approved the ceasefire proposals put forward by Qatar and Egypt. Despite this, the Israeli War Cabinet has decided to continue its attacks in Rafah.
The ceasefire proposal aims to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza and pave the way for long-lasting peace and development in the region. Hamas’s acceptance of the proposals signals a potential breakthrough in the ongoing conflict.
