Palestinians displaced from Jenin Refugee Camp due to Israeli military attacks

The recent attacks by the Israeli army have caused more than 600 Palestinians to flee their homes in the Jenin Refugee Camp, seeking refuge in the courtyard of the Jenin State Hospital. According to municipal official Metahin, these displaced individuals are facing dire humanitarian conditions, with many forced to live on the streets or in open areas without shelter. The Jenin Municipality has opened municipal buildings to accommodate these people.
The Israeli army has placed Jenin under a complete siege, closed off the Refugee Camp, and demolished major streets and intersections in the city using bulldozers. The Palestinian Red Crescent managed to rescue 20 children trapped in a kindergarten, but unfortunately, two children, three doctors, and two nurses were injured in the attacks. Metahin emphasized that all the casualties were innocent civilians.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 10 Palestinians lost their lives and around 40 others were injured in the Israeli assaults on Jenin. The Israeli army, along with the domestic intelligence agency Shin-Bet (Shabak), launched an operation named “Iron Wall” against the Refugee Camp, with authorities indicating that the attacks could continue for days.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the decision to target Jenin was approved by the Israeli “security cabinet.” Images shared by Palestinians on social media show tracked bulldozers being used alongside military units in the offensive.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich defended the attacks on the Jenin Refugee Camp, stating that it was a necessary measure for Israel’s security. Smotrich hinted that the operation would be prolonged, signaling a prolonged period of conflict in the region.
