Panic in Sakarya: Oxygen Tanker Leak Prompts Emergency Response

A leak in a tanker loaded with medical oxygen in the Sapanca district of Sakarya prompted emergency response teams to take action swiftly.

The incident occurred in a medical oxygen tanker with the license plate 26 AHE 281, which was parked near Sapanca State Hospital on Stat Street in Gazipaşa Neighborhood.

Upon notification from people in the vicinity, teams from AFAD, the fire department, police, and medical personnel were dispatched to the area. As a precautionary measure, Sapanca State Hospital and some of the TOKİ residences near the tanker were evacuated.

Patients and staff in the hospital’s inpatient ward and observation areas were safely moved, and the street was closed to traffic. After the teams intervened, the source of the leak was detected and fixed, and the tanker was removed from the site.

The road was then reopened for traffic, and normal operations resumed at the hospital.

The quick response from the teams ensured that the situation was dealt with promptly, preventing any potential hazards from escalating. The safety and well-being of the residents in the area were the top priority throughout the incident.
