Parachute Enthusiasts Gather in Eskişehir – Latest Update
Parachute enthusiasts from all corners of Turkey gathered at the Sivrihisar International Sports Aviation Center Necati Artan Facilities for an exciting event. The licensed parachutists took part in a public event on the Eastern Apron, where they had the opportunity to jump from heights of 7,000 and 10,000 feet using two nostalgic aircraft, the “ANTONOV AN-2” and “CESSNA 172”. All jumps were free of charge, allowing participants to soar through the sky with adrenaline-pumping excitement.
One of the highlights of the event was the acrobatic show performed by Semin Öztürk Şener, Turkey’s only civilian professional female acrobatic pilot, with her plane named “Yeni Menekşe”. Spectators were thrilled to witness her impressive skills up in the air.
As the festival comes to a close, parachutists will be presented with “Participation Certificates” to commemorate their experience. The event has brought together parachute enthusiasts from various cities across Turkey, including Istanbul, Izmir, and Denizli, showcasing the shared passion for this thrilling sport.
Deputy Chairman of the Center’s Organization Committee, Işıl Görenoğlu, highlighted the enthusiastic participation of approximately 50 parachutists, who have been enjoying the jumps since the early hours of the morning. The jumps, conducted with the nostalgic aircraft, have added a special touch to the event, making it a memorable experience for all participants.
Mustafa Kavak, a parachutist from Sinop with 36 years of experience in the sport, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities provided by the Sivrihisar Aviation Center. He commended the organizers for offering a perfect environment for parachutists of all ages to come together and enjoy the thrill of jumping from the skies. The event has truly brought the Turkish parachute community together, inviting enthusiasts of all levels to join in the festivities and witness the excitement of the sport.
