Passenger Plane from India to US Diverted to Mumbai after Bomb Threat
A recent incident involving a bomb threat on an Air India flight has caused concern among passengers and officials alike. According to a statement from Air India, the “AI119” flight was forced to return to Mumbai after a note indicating a possible bomb in the aircraft toilet was discovered.
Upon landing back in Mumbai, the plane was thoroughly inspected and the situation was deemed to be under control. Passengers were informed that the flight would be postponed until the following day.
This is not the first time that Indian-based airlines have faced bomb threats. In 2024, several airlines had to take precautionary measures, including making emergency landings, due to similar threats.
In response to these incidents, the Indian administration has announced plans to take action against false bomb threats. This includes considering adding flights to a “Banned Flight” list and increasing the presence of air marshals on board aircraft for added security.
