Passengers stranded in Dubai after Wizz Air Middle East flight returns to Budapest

The return flight from Dubai to Budapest, scheduled for the evening, was also cancelled, leaving 250 passengers stranded in the UAE. Wizz Air offered affected passengers accommodations, free rebooking, a cash refund, or WIZZ credit as compensation. The airline also apologised for any inconvenience caused and prioritised the safety of passengers and staff.

Passengers stranded in Dubai were transported to a 5-star hotel for dinner and were expected to return to the airport the following day. This incident comes on the heels of two emergency landings by Wizz Air in Budapest, causing the airline to miss at least 50 flights in 2024.
