Patients in Gaza Face Fatalities Due to Medicine Shortages
The health crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen as hospitals are targeted by the Israeli army, leading to a shortage of medical supplies and worsening conditions for patients and the injured. Marwan al-Hams, coordinator of field hospitals in Gaza, has expressed concern over the deteriorating situation, stating that the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunus is struggling to accommodate all patients and is facing sewage issues due to the ongoing attacks.
In addition to the lack of medical resources, infectious diseases such as Hepatitis are spreading in the camps where displaced people are staying, further exacerbating the health crisis. With water sources contaminated and malnutrition on the rise, the situation in the northern part of the Gaza Strip is dire.
Furthermore, the closure of the Rafah Border Gate by the Israeli army has cut off a major access point for humanitarian aid to reach Gaza. This has left the region even more vulnerable to shortages of food and medicine, with civilians, especially children, at risk of malnutrition and starvation.
The government in Gaza has called for urgent international intervention to stop the atrocities being committed against civilians in Gaza and to ensure the flow of aid to those in need. The continued attacks on hospitals and the blockade on essential supplies are seen as acts of genocide, and efforts are being made to raise awareness and seek assistance from the international community.
