Istanbul Police Department Implements Peace Enforcement throughout the Province

The Istanbul Police Department has implemented a peace enforcement operation throughout the province. As part of this operation, vehicles were stopped and thoroughly searched, while drivers and passengers were subjected to General Security Investigation (GBT) checks. Various law enforcement units, including the Public Security Branch Directorate, Preventive Services, Traffic Inspection, Aviation, Anti-Narcotic Crimes, Sea Port Branches, and Special Operations teams, participated in these inspections.

One incident occurred in the Fatih district, where a driver and vehicle owner were fined 16,816 TL. The inspections were not limited to Fatih but extended to other districts such as Beyoğlu and Kadıköy. During the operation, vehicles were thoroughly searched, and individuals were also body-searched while undergoing GBT checks.

In a noteworthy incident, a motorcyclist who was fined responded to his girlfriend’s outburst towards the press who were filming, saying, “The men are doing their duty. Don’t make me crazy, so let them shoot.”

Additionally, a narcotic dog named “Kimy” conducted vehicle searches for drugs at the enforcement point on Fatih Millet Street.

The peace enforcement operation demonstrates the Istanbul Police Department’s commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order throughout the province.
