
Peace Operation Marks New Era in Cyprus

President Ersin Tatar of Cyprus recently made a statement declaring that a new era has begun in Cyprus following the Cyprus Peace Operation. He emphasized that the new political landscape now revolves around two-state politics, indicating that there is no time to waste anymore.
During a meeting with Mustafa Canbey, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, as well as other officials, President Tatar expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing efforts to elevate the visibility of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on the international stage.
President Tatar highlighted the historical significance of Cyprus, particularly the Ottoman period, and the challenges faced by the Turkish Cypriot people. He also emphasized the importance of defending the principles of two-state politics and acknowledged the unwavering support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Regarding the current situation in Cyprus, President Tatar underscored the need for a lasting agreement based on equality between the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities. He criticized the Greek side for its refusal to engage in sincere negotiations and its disruptive actions aimed at undermining the Turkish Cypriot people.
