Penalty announced for Dilan Polat and Sıla Doğu after on-stage kiss
An investigation has been launched against Dilan Polat and Sıla Doğu after images taken at an entertainment venue in Beşiktaş were published on social media. The Press Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared the indictment, which includes an expert examination report that states Polat kissed Doğu on the cheek and lips after dancing to music.
In her statement in the indictment, Dilan Polat explained that she was attending her friend’s birthday party and her older sister, Sıla Doğu, acted as both a mother and father figure to her. Polat claimed that the kiss on the lips was a misunderstanding, as she was intending to kiss her sister on the cheek, but Doğu turned around suddenly. She emphasized that their relationship is purely sister-brother and that she apologized to society for the incident, denying any accusations against her.
The prosecutor’s office has requested a prison sentence of 6 months to 1 year for the defendants for ‘immoral acts’. The court will evaluate the indictment and make a decision on the case.
