Perihan Aziz Laid to Rest in Bagliköy
Renowned journalist and former TAK director, Perihan Aziz, was laid to rest in her hometown of Bağlıköy following her passing yesterday.
The funeral ceremony, which was attended by notable figures such as 4th President Mustafa Akıncı and his wife Meral Akıncı, Nicosia Mayor Aziz Kaya, TAK Director Fehmi Gürdallı, and BRTK Director Meryem Çavuşoğlu Özkurt, took place in the village where Perihan Aziz was born and dedicated her life.
Taner Kerimoğlu, President of the Bağlıköy Eco Volunteers Association, spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing the shared vision he had with Perihan Aziz to improve Bağlıköy. He expressed determination to continue their work towards enhancing the village and honoring Perihan Aziz’s legacy as a devoted supporter of Bağlıköy.
Perihan Aziz’s coffin was carried to the village cemetery by mourners, with tears in their eyes, as she was laid to rest in the soil of Bağlıköy. The community bid farewell to a beloved journalist and advocate for her hometown, remembering her commitment to the village’s well-being and prosperity.
