Turkish athletes shine at the European Throws Cup
Turkish athletes put on an impressive performance at the European Throws Cup, with Pınar Akyol leading the way by clinching the gold medal in the shot put event with a throw of 16.15 meters. A statement from the Turkish Athletics Federation confirmed her victory in the Greek Cypriot Section.
Muhammet Hanifi Zengin also made Turkey proud by finishing in 5th place in the javelin throwing event with a throw of 72.70 meters. Halil Yılmazer, representing the Moon-star team, secured the 6th spot in the group with a throw of 70.35 meters, earning the 23rd place in the overall ranking.
Hira Öztoprak competed in the hammer throwing event and finished in 11th place with a throw of 56.95 meters, while Yasin Mehmet Yılmaz took the 13th spot in the discus throwing event with a throw of 44.27 meters.
Özkan Baltacı also made his mark in the competition with a throw of 71.44 meters, securing the 19th spot in the overall ranking. Özlem Becherek rounded up the Turkish athletes’ strong performance by finishing in 12th place in the discus throwing event with a throw of 55.25 meters, placing 17th overall.
The Turkish athletes showcased their skill and determination at the European Throws Cup, bringing home several impressive results and making their country proud.
