PM Orbán’s Political Director: EU Now Super State Silencing Independent Viewpoints
The European Union has been criticized for turning into a super state, where member states with independent viewpoints are suppressed and ostracized. Balázs Orbán, the prime minister’s political director, expressed these concerns during a conference held by the National University of Public Service (NKE) on Monday.
Orbán highlighted that the EU is operating under the principle that Brussels should have as much power as possible, as they believe they know best how to handle it. However, he pointed out that Brussels bureaucrats often struggle to find solutions to problems or are unwilling to do so. Despite this, they continue to push for more control over policy areas, such as migration and foreign policy, at the expense of member states.
The political director also raised concerns about Europe’s vulnerability, citing issues with the supply of raw materials and energy due to poor decision-making. He warned that member states would continue to face challenges with high prices and reduced competitiveness unless changes are made.
Orbán called for a shift towards rational decision-making within the EU, emphasizing the importance of building relationships rather than pursuing exclusionary policies. He argued that the EU should move away from ideological approaches and focus on practical solutions to address the current challenges facing the union.
