PM Üstel: Turkey cooperation to complete projects

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) recently welcomed Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz for a two-day visit, during which they discussed various important projects and agreements.

In a statement shared on social media, Prime Minister Üstel highlighted the fruitful discussions and progress made during the visit. One of the key outcomes was the completion of the first resource transfer package under the Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement between TRNC and Turkey, amounting to over 16 billion. This achievement was deemed a record in terms of its size and significance.

Furthermore, two new protocols were signed during the visit, including agreements to provide social rights to martyrs’ families and veterans, as well as enabling civilian citizens to benefit from the services of a newly opened military hospital in Kyrenia.

The collaboration between TRNC and Turkey, based on trust, determination, and cooperation, aims to complete all ongoing projects in the country. Discussions also focused on important infrastructure projects such as the Nicosia Northern Ring Road, Alsancak-Lapta Road, Girne-Çatalköy Road, and Karpaz-Zafer Burnu Road, all of which are priorities for completion.

Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance sectors like education, digitalization, e-government, fiber optics, and internet speed, with a focus on ensuring sustainable growth and development in key industries like tourism and construction. The government is also dedicated to empowering youth to become entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders in new technological environments.

Prime Minister Üstel expressed optimism for the future, stating that 2025 will be even better than the current year. He emphasized the importance of political stability, maintaining relations with Turkey, and continuous hard work to realize the vision for a prosperous and self-sufficient TRNC.

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, and all delegations for their support and contributions to the development and progress of the TRNC.The collaboration and commitment between TRNC and Turkey are key to achieving long-term success and prosperity for the region.
