Police General Directorate and EMU Sign Education Cooperation Protocol

Police General Directorate (PGM) and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) have signed a training cooperation protocol. The aim of the protocol is to enhance the personal training level of the personnel working at the Police Headquarters and enable them to improve themselves.

The protocol, valid for three years, was signed by Police General Director Kasım Kuni on behalf of the Police General Directorate and EMU Rector Prof. Aykut Hocanın. The signing ceremony was attended by PGM-I. Deputy Ahmet Beşerler and Police School Director Hüseyin Kafa.

During his speech, Police General Director Kasım Kuni expressed his gratitude towards Eastern Mediterranean University for providing opportunities for the personal development of the police members. He hoped that the protocol would benefit both institutions. Kuni emphasized the significance of education for the police force and stated that the training opportunities offered by EMU would contribute to the educational level of the police personnel. He added that cooperation between the two institutions would continue.

EMU Rector Prof. Aykut Hocanın, on the other hand, highlighted the responsibility of the university in contributing to the General Directorate of Police and other state institutions in terms of education. He expressed readiness to support the police organization in various fields and thanked Eastern Mediterranean University for their contribution to the police, particularly in the field of security. Hocanın wished for the protocol to be mutually beneficial.

The protocol includes full scholarship training for 10 personnel from the General Directorate of Police who apply to the training programs. Additionally, a 25 percent discount on undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral program fees is provided for all personnel, as well as their spouses and children. Moreover, EMU will assist academic and administrative staff in their education by determining security strategies for EMU facilities and implementing preventive security measures.

This collaboration between PGM and EMU aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the police personnel and strengthen their capabilities in maintaining public safety and security. With the exchange of expertise and resources, both institutions can contribute to the professional development of the police force and ensure a safer environment for the community.
