Police Officer Injured in Shootout with Suspect in Bursa
A dramatic incident unfolded in Bursa as a 34-year-old suspect, identified as Ahmet D., engaged in a shootout with police officers after being stopped for suspicious behavior. The suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, attempted to flee on foot and opened fire on the police with a gun he was carrying.
During the exchange of gunfire, Police Officer Murat Can Güleç, 32, was injured in the leg. Despite his injury, the officer bravely continued to pursue the suspect until he was apprehended by the authorities.
Güleç, whose injuries are not life-threatening, received immediate medical attention at Karacabey State Hospital before being transferred to Bursa City Hospital for further treatment. District Police Chief Ümit Şahin also assisted in the investigation by searching for bullet casings at the scene of the incident.
