
Police Officer Killed in Gang Clash

A tragic incident occurred at a liquor store in İnönü District, where police officer Mehmet Sıddık Temel lost his life after being shot during a disagreement between a group of people and the store owners. The group, who had previous conflicts with the Tekel dealer operators, arrived at the store with 2 cars leading to a heated argument. As a result, Temel was shot with a gun and despite medical intervention, he could not be saved.
Following the incident, the suspects fled the scene in the cars they came in and were later found at a car dealership in Bayraklı district where they abandoned the vehicles and attempted to escape. However, thanks to the thorough examination of security cameras and city cameras, the police were able to apprehend 7 suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. Additionally, the firearm used in the incident was seized during a body search.
The body of Mehmet Sıddık Temel was taken to the morgue of the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute after the prosecutor’s examination. The police have launched an investigation into the matter and the suspects are currently being questioned at the police station. The community is shocked and saddened by this senseless act of violence, and justice is being sought for the fallen officer.
