Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi is seeking the most severe punishment for the suspect who killed his son, Ahmet, in a recent tragic incident. Minguzzi is determined to see justice served and hopes that this case will set a precedent for similar crimes in the future.
“This is not a discounted crime,” Minguzzi emphasized, highlighting the severity of the situation. Ahmet Minguzzi’s aunt, Aylin Akincilar, also voiced her opinion on the matter, stating that the penalty should not be reduced. She emphasized the importance of the punishment acting as a deterrent and setting a precedent for similar cases in the future.
The penalties that the suspects will receive are being influenced by the brutal nature of the crime. The suspects reportedly repeatedly stabbed Ahmet Minguzzi and kicked him while he was on the ground, leading to outrage and calls for harsh punishment.
According to attorney Serkan Günel, under the current law, individuals under the age of 18 are considered minors, and there is a defined discount in their penalties. Unfortunately, this means that judges may not have the flexibility to impose harsher punishments in cases like this.
Günel explained that even though the child who committed the crime is 15 years old, the maximum penalty would be life imprisonment with a range of 12-15 years. Despite calls for increased penalties, changes in the law will not affect the punishment for the suspects in this case.
The tragic incident occurred when Ahmet Minguzzi went to buy skateboard material in Kadikoy Lice Market and was attacked with a knife, resulting in serious injuries. Despite efforts to save him, Ahmet ultimately lost his life on February 10th. The family is now seeking justice and hoping that the perpetrators will face the consequences of their actions.
