Pregnant 24-Year-Old Woman Faces 78-Year Prison Sentence
The Eskişehir Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Wanted Persons Bureau has successfully carried out an operation to capture wanted individuals. Among those caught were 24-year-old Seher C. and her relative Sultan C., who have a history of numerous thefts and prison sentences. Seher C. has been convicted of over 90 thefts, with 13 search warrants and a final sentence of 65 years and 165 months for 4 separate theft crimes. Both suspects were detained and taken to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.
Seher C. was arrested for one of the crimes she was wanted for, after giving a statement to the prosecutor’s office. Despite being currently pregnant with her 5th child, Seher C. was arrested as her pregnancy report did not reach the court in time, leading to the enforcement of her previous sentence of 78 years and 9 months for theft crimes. Sultan C., on the other hand, was released after giving his statement at the courthouse.
It has been reported that Seher C., with multiple criminal records and a hefty prison sentence, will have her sentence postponed again if she presents a medical report confirming her pregnancy while in prison. This will eventually lead to her release from custody.
