Three major broadcasters have come together to secure the 4-year broadcasting rights of the Premier League in England. This significant sum has solidified the Premier League’s position as the leader in terms of broadcasting rights in the world of sports.
The annual broadcasting rights value of the Premier League now stands at around 2.1 billion dollars, placing it far ahead of rival leagues. In comparison, the annual broadcasting rights for the German, Spanish, and Italian leagues are approximately half of this amount.
As part of the new agreement, the British Sky Sports channel will be airing approximately 215 matches each season, while TNT sports will have the right to broadcast 52 matches per year during the 4-year contract.
