Preparation of Civil Aviation Security Draft Law

Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus is set to open up for international flights following a restructuring. As part of this process, a new law has been drafted to regulate civil aviation security, in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) rules. The draft law aims to regulate the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of institutions and organizations involved in civil aviation security, and establish procedures and principles for implementation. The law will also oversee the creation of a Civil Aviation Security Board. The bill has been published in the Official Gazette and individuals can offer their feedback to the Presidency of the Assembly for 20 days.
