Preserving Ancient Traditions: The Privilege of Mighty Nations
President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) recently welcomed Yunus Emre Institute Vice President Dr. Kutalmış Yalçın and his delegation. During his speech at the reception, President Tatar commended the efforts of the Yunus Emre Institute in promoting Turkish culture and identity in 64 countries.
Acknowledging the importance of preserving and passing on a nation’s history and traditions to future generations, President Tatar emphasized that the TRNC is proud to be part of the great Turkish nation and to contribute to the Institute’s work with its young people and artists.
President Tatar expressed his delight in hosting officials and young individuals from different branches of the Yunus Emre Institute, who were in the TRNC for the 3rd Peace and Freedom Cup as part of the 20 July Peace and Freedom Day celebrations. He thanked the young participants from other countries for their role in introducing the TRNC and highlighted the significance of including young people from the TRNC in events held in other nations, as well as expanding the Institute’s activities within the TRNC.
Yunus Emre Institute Vice President Dr. Kutalmış Yalçın mentioned that the Institute has representatives in 64 countries and highlighted the importance of their center in Nicosia as a valuable corporate memory. Dr. Yalçın expressed gratitude for President Tatar’s consistent support for the organization of the 3rd Peace and Freedom Cup, and emphasized the Institute’s dedication to promoting Turkish language, culture, art, and history.
