Disinformation Center clarifies misconceptions on carbon footprint and Paris Agreement
The Disinformation Center (DMM) recently released a statement addressing common misconceptions related to carbon footprint and the Paris Agreement. According to the DMM, there is no restriction on the freedom of individuals based on their carbon footprint. The focus on reducing carbon footprint is primarily directed towards production organizations, rather than individuals, properties, or travel.
One of the key points highlighted in the statement is the misconception surrounding the imposition of a carbon tax on citizens under the emission trade system. The DMM categorically stated that there is no provision for carbon tax in the law, and the emission trade system only applies to energy-intensive production facilities. Individuals are not subjected to any carbon tax under the current legal framework.
Furthermore, the DMM debunked claims suggesting that the Paris Agreement would result in the confiscation of agricultural lands and impose restrictions on crop cultivation. The center clarified that the Paris Agreement was incorporated into domestic law through parliamentary procedures in 2021, with due consideration given to the country’s unique circumstances and development objectives. Contrary to misinformation, the Paris Agreement aims to address global climate challenges while respecting national sovereignty and development priorities.
