President Aliyev Marks 100th Birthday of Heydar Aliyev with Social Media Tribute
President Ilham Aliyev Honors Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on his 100th Birth Anniversary
On May 9th, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan took to Twitter to pay tribute to the 100th birth anniversary of his late father, Heydar Aliyev, known as the Great Leader. Heydar Aliyev served as the President of Azerbaijan from 1993 to 2003 and was awarded the title of National Leader in 1995.
President Ilham Aliyev’s post on Twitter read: “Dear fellow countrymen! Today, May 10, marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. The life and patriotic activity of Heydar Aliyev will always remain in the history of Azerbaijan as a symbol of courage, wisdom and devotion to the Motherland. Long live the memory of Heydar Aliyev!”
The occasion of Heydar Aliyev’s centenary birth anniversary has been celebrated throughout Azerbaijan with various events and cultural programs.
