Turkey Announces Free and Discounted Natural Gas
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made an announcement that has brought good news to households, places of worship and cemevi subscribers across the country. Speaking at the ‘Black Sea Gas Commissioning Ceremony’ at the Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility, he revealed that natural gas would be free for one month and discounted for one year.
This announcement has now been published in the Official Gazette, where it was revealed that the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has earmarked funds to cover the cost of natural gas bills for residents of the country. Specifically, all invoices of housing, places of worship and cemevi subscribers from 24/04/2023 to 31/05/2023, as well as natural gas bills up to 25 cubic meters on their next invoices until 01/05/2024 will be covered by the Ministry’s budget.
