AK Party Officials Visit Sites of Fire Damage in İzmir

AK Party Headquarters Women’s Branch President Ayşe Keşir and AK Party İzmir Provincial President Bilal Saygılı recently visited the houses and workplaces that were damaged in a fire that started on August 15 in Yamanlar Neighborhood in İzmir and spread before being contained on August 18.

During their visit to the affected neighborhoods, Keşir met with citizens who had suffered losses and listened to their demands. She also took the opportunity to call President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and update him on the situation.

President Erdoğan, in turn, expressed his well wishes to the affected citizens and assured them that necessary steps would be taken promptly to address the issues at hand. He stated, “We will take the necessary steps regarding these issues in a short time and we will reunite all our brothers and sisters with their new homes as soon as possible. My colleagues are continuing their work on this issue.”

One of the residents impacted by the fire, 80-year-old Süleyman Çelik, expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan and extended an invitation for him to visit their neighborhood.

Keşir highlighted the importance of the rapid response in managing the fire and the fact that there were no casualties. She also mentioned ongoing efforts to assess the damage and provide support to the affected residents, drawing parallels with previous fires in Manavgat and Muğla where similar measures were taken by the government.

In addition, AK Party Provincial Chairman Bilal Saygılı announced plans for a tree planting event in Sancaklı Neighborhood in honor of National Afforestation Day.

The AK Party officials reiterated their commitment to addressing the needs of the citizens affected by the fire in İzmir and pledged to act swiftly in providing assistance and support to the community.
