President Erdogan Fully Supports New Politics in Tatarstan
President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) recently participated in a televised program in Ankara where he provided insight into the Cyprus issue and current affairs. Tatar emphasized that the re-election of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is imperative for the success of the two-state solution policy proposed by the Turkish Cypriot side. The TRNC is crucial to Turkey’s security in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Blue Homeland, and Turkey fully supports the two-state solution vision.
Tatar also noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently met with state officials at the inauguration ceremony and many of the officials from various countries were graduates of TRNC universities. This, according to Tatar, is evidence of the success story that the TRNC is becoming. He added that Turkey has a national policy on Cyprus, and that the most critical goal is to preserve national identity and moral values.
The TRNC President also visited the Turkish World Parliamentary Foundation as part of his Ankara contacts. Tatar met with former Minister of State for Cyprus Affairs of Turkey, Orhan Kilercioğlu, as well as the officials of the Cyprus Turkish Cultural Association.
Tatar affirmed his commitment to further develop relations with Turkey, to strengthen national politics, protect the Turkish presence in Cyprus, develop relations with the Turkish States, and safeguard national values. The most critical objective, he stated, is to bring their joint cause to safety.
