President Erdoğan to Inaugurate Cutting-Edge Transportation System, Reducing Travel Time from 2 Hours to 55 Minutes
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will officially open the new highway constructed by Minister Uraloğlu. The highway, with a total length of 163 kilometers, includes a 6-lane 140-kilometer main road and a 4-lane 23-kilometer connection road. This new route will significantly reduce travel time, with a journey that previously took 1.5 to 2 hours now only taking 55 minutes.
Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the environmental benefits of the highway, stating that it will reduce carbon emissions by 61 thousand tons per year. Additionally, the highway is expected to save 6.4 billion liras in time and 1 billion liras in fuel annually, totaling 7.4 billion liras saved.
The new highway will serve as a vital link between Aydın and Denizli, connecting 11 districts and 46 signalized intersections. It will facilitate transportation to popular tourist destinations such as Pamukkale, Ephesus, Didim, and Kuşadası, boosting tourism and creating new investment opportunities.
Turkey has seen significant improvements in its transportation infrastructure over the years, with the divided road length increasing from 6,101 kilometers in 2002 to 29,730 kilometers today. The highway network has also expanded, reaching 3,796 kilometers with the addition of the Aydın-Denizli Highway.
Overall, the new highway is expected to enhance connectivity, promote economic growth, and support a greener transportation system in the region. Its opening marks a significant milestone in Turkey’s ongoing efforts to improve its transportation network and infrastructure.
