President Erdogan underlined that during the coup attempt, the Turkish people fiercely defended their temples against any desecration by foreign hands. He condemned those who underestimated the significance of the events of July 15, asserting that they had failed to grasp the unwavering determination and patriotism that permeates the nation.
Pointing out that those who do not understand the spirit of July 15 cannot comprehend historical events such as the Çanakkale War, Battle of Sakarya, and Battle of Dumlupınar, he emphasized that the love for independence engraved in the nation’s values is embedded within the essence of July 15.
President Erdogan reiterated that the epic resistance of the Turkish people on July 15 will forever remain unpolluted, despite attempts to distort its significance. He firmly dismissed claims that the coup attempt was a “controlled coup,” stating that the Turkish nation’s wisdom, proven through the outcome of their struggle for democracy, would not be discredited.
In his speech, President Erdogan proudly recounted the leaps forward made in various fields during the past 21 years. He highlighted the successful transformation of the administrative system through the Presidential Government System, which propelled Turkey away from political instability and coup d’état threats.
