President of Turkmenistan Meets with Turkish Minister of National Defense
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently met with the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Yashar Güler, on June 26, 2024. During this meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to maintaining and strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
The Minister of National Defense conveyed warm greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, highlighting the importance that Türkiye places on their relationship with Turkmenistan. In response, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reiterated the significance of the strategic cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that it remains a top priority on Turkmenistan’s foreign policy agenda.
The meeting focused on the potential for further collaboration in various areas, particularly in the defense and military sectors. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to a purely defensive Military Doctrine, highlighting the ongoing professional development and technology exchange initiatives between the two nations.
Both leaders expressed confidence in the continued success of their friendly interstate cooperation, aiming to contribute to peace and prosperity in both countries and the region as a whole.
Following the meeting between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister Yashar Güler, the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan also had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of National Defense of Türkiye on the same day. This additional meeting further reinforced the commitment to cooperation and collaboration between the two countries in matters of defense and security.
