President Erdoğan Delivers Prominent Titles at 3rd Yeditepe Biennial
President Erdoğan recently delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Yeditepe Biennial in Istanbul, organized in collaboration with the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and Fatih Municipality. The President expressed his pleasure at the event being held in Istanbul, a city rich in culture, history, and civilization.
The biennial, which has become a tradition, will showcase 215 works from 263 artists representing 15 different countries. These works will be displayed at three different locations in Istanbul: Yedikule Fortress, Nuruosmaniye Mosque cellar, and Sirkeci Station Warehouses. Artists from countries such as Palestine, Spain, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Russia, France, and China will be represented, bringing a diverse range of artistic styles and motifs to the city.
President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of the biennial in promoting Turkish traditional arts and bringing together artists from around the world. He hoped that the event would contribute to the cultural and artistic community of Turkey.
The theme of the 3rd Yeditepe Biennial, “shadow if there is a light,” reflects on the concept of light and truth as represented in Islamic verses. The President highlighted the significance of art in exploring spirituality and connecting with higher truths.
The biennial serves as a platform for showcasing Turkey’s cultural heritage on a global stage and contributing to the country’s brand value. Traditional Turkish arts such as calligraphy, illumination, marbling, and miniature painting are showcased, adding to the cultural richness of the event.
President Erdoğan concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to the artists and organizers of the biennial and looked forward to the success of the event in promoting cultural exchange and appreciation.
