President Sulyok Stresses Importance of Child Protection at Conference in Szeged
At the opening of the Child Protection Conference of the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office in Szeged, President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok, emphasized the paramount importance of protecting children. He stated that children are a blessing for the nation, the country, the family, and all human beings.
Sulyok highlighted that Hungarians are a family-oriented nation, and children are the most precious treasures within a family. He noted that children are the guarantee of the survival of the Hungarian nation and will continue the legacy of the previous generations.
The President emphasized the need to provide every child with a protective and inspiring environment that allows them to grow into happy and balanced adults. He stated that protecting children goes beyond national interests and is a fundamental human concern.
Sulyok underlined that child protection is a community matter and urged all adults to take responsibility in setting good examples for children to follow. He stressed the importance of actions over words, highlighting the role of dedicated professionals in child protection services.
Government Commissioner László Péter Salgó announced that this year’s child protection event will include a charity run, the Ágota Run, to support young people in child protection care. Salgó emphasized the collaboration between the state, church, civil organizations, and individuals in achieving social-charitable goals.
Bishop László Kiss-Rigó emphasized the need for expertise and professional knowledge in child protection, noting the importance of cooperation between various entities. He highlighted the shared responsibility in ensuring the well-being of children.
The conference in Szeged serves as a platform for discussions on child protection and the collaboration between different stakeholders in safeguarding children’s rights. The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of child protection and the role of individuals and organizations in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children.
