President Tatar Affirms Solidarity at Anchovy Festival
President Ersin Tatar attended the 16th Anchovy Festival organized by the Black Sea Cultural Association in Kyrenia. In his speech at the festival, President Tatar expressed his satisfaction to see the participants from Turkey and our country at the festival.
President Tatar stated that he was proud to host the players of the Trabzonspor football team, which won the Cyprus Peace Cup 50 years ago, Cyprus Veterans, the Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, and the former president of Trabzonspor. He conveyed his greetings to the people of Trabzon and the Black Sea region.
President Tatar also mentioned the recent fire disaster in a hotel in Bolu, Turkey, and expressed his solidarity with the people of Turkey. He also wished that the Miraç Kandili, a holy night in Islam, would be blessed.
Emphasizing the importance of the activities carried out by the Black Sea Cultural Association, President Tatar highlighted the strengthening ties between Turkish Cypriots and the people of Turkey through such activities.
President Tatar stressed the joint struggle with the Turkish World, especially Turkey, to preserve the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and pass it on to future generations. He highlighted the peace, tranquility, and hope for the future in Cyprus as a reflection of the national will.
President Tatar acknowledged the shared pain and happiness between Turkish Cypriots and the people of Turkey, mentioning the recent earthquake and fire disasters in Turkey. He also mentioned his efforts to enhance relations between the two states, particularly through meetings with Cyprus Veterans during his visits to provinces in Turkey.
In conclusion, President Tatar expressed his happiness in walking into the future together with those who came and settled in Cyprus from the Black Sea and Trabzon after 1974.
