
President Tatar attends 32nd State Photography Competition Exhibition and Award Ceremony

The 32nd State Photography Contest Exhibition and Award Ceremony was recently held in North Cyprus, organized by the Culture Department of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment. The event took place on August 19, World Photography Day, at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Cultural Center, with President Ersin Tatar in attendance.
President Tatar expressed his joy at participating in an event that celebrates national photographers and highlighted the significance of photography in capturing moments that can be shared worldwide. He also commended the valuable contributions of local photographers to the art form.
The exhibition showcased a variety of photographs capturing different perspectives and memories, which President Tatar emphasized will only grow in value over time. He highlighted the importance of preserving the beauty of Cyprus through photography and showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Turkish Cypriot community to the world.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to deserving photographers across various categories, including architecture, nature, and conceptual photography. The exhibition, featuring works by 39 participants, will be open to the public until Friday at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
The event was also marked by speeches from Culture Department Director Şirin Zaimağaoğlu and Anber Onar, daughter of Architect Abdullah Onar, who praised the role of photography as both a documentation tool and an art form. The exhibition aims to showcase the beauty of the country and its architectural heritage through the lens of talented photographers.
