
President Tatar Attends Berlin Tourism Fair (BRTK)

President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus made a visit to the International Berlin Tourism Fair during his trip to Germany. On the second day of his visit, President Tatar stopped by the TRNC stand where he met with representatives from hotels and tourism agencies.
During his visit, President Tatar also engaged in discussions with Turkish and foreign press, including BRT, to share updates on the Cyprus issue. In addition to the TRNC stand, President Tatar visited the stands of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan, where he met with senior tourism officials.
One notable meeting during the fair was with Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Nuri Ersoy. President Tatar, along with Minister of Tourism Fikri Ataoğlu and TRNC Berlin Representative Beniz Uluer Kaymak, discussed promotional initiatives to boost tourism in Northern Cyprus. Their agreement includes advertising in England, Germany, and Turkey, along with plans for direct flights to the country.
President Tatar expressed gratitude for the collaboration with Turkey, emphasizing the positive impact on tourism. He highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance Ercan Airport and attract more tourists to the country. The ability for large-bodied aircraft to land at Ercan Airport has been a significant development in boosting tourism.
Minister Ataoğlu, in a separate statement, mentioned plans to increase the number of beds in the country and promote alternative tourism models. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmet Savaşan also discussed the upcoming World Health Tourism Fair hosted by the TRNC, which is expected to attract participants from 50 different countries.
Overall, President Tatar’s visit to the International Berlin Tourism Fair was marked by discussions on strengthening tourism ties and promoting Northern Cyprus as a vibrant travel destination. The collaboration with Turkey and upcoming projects signal a promising future for tourism in the region.
