The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is gearing up for an extraordinary showcase of technology and innovation with the upcoming Drone Competition, set to take place at the former Ercan Airport. This event is part of Teknofest TRNC and is organized under the auspices of TRNC President Ersin Tatar, with the collaboration of Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation).
During the award ceremony for the Drift Competition at Near East University, President Tatar expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming participants from around the world to this prestigious festival dedicated to science, space, and aviation. He recognized the hard work of the T3 Foundation and the Teknofest team, who have been diligently preparing for this event over the past six months.
The drone competition is expected to attract a significant number of young innovators and enthusiasts, with thousands planning to attend both the competitions and live demonstrations. President Tatar highlighted the importance of this festival, noting that it will feature high-level participation from Turkey, including the attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 3. "This festival represents the largest aviation, space, and technology event in an independent Turkish state within the Eastern Mediterranean," stated Tatar.
