President Ersin Tatar Receives Turkish Bank Group Managing Director Erhan Raif and Turkish Bank General Manager Mustafa Kayahan
President Ersin Tatar of Northern Cyprus recently met with Turkish Bank Group Managing Director Erhan Raif and Turkish Bank General Manager Mustafa Kayahan. During the meeting, President Tatar emphasized the significance of Turkish Bank, the oldest bank in Northern Cyprus, and expressed his close attention to the bank’s operations.
President Tatar highlighted the importance of supporting the political efforts to overcome the outdated isolation and restrictions imposed on the country. He emphasized that it is a shared goal to enhance the well-being of the people and strengthen the economic structure and state. President Tatar extended his best wishes to Erhan Raif for his new role as the General Manager of Turkish Bank (UK) Limited, based in London.
Erhan Raif expressed his pleasure in meeting President Tatar before his new assignment and shared that Turkish Bank (UK) Limited, a subsidiary of Turkish Bank, has been operating as the only British bank with Turkish capital in London for almost 50 years. He emphasized the significant value of Turkish Bank (UK) Limited, with a balance sheet of over GBP 200 million and capital close to GBP 30 million, for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Raif also highlighted that Turkish Bank UK is one of the few banks in the UK that is a member of all payment systems among more than 300 banks.
Raif expressed pride in being the gateway of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the world and mentioned their ongoing work to open a branch in London after the successful operation of T-Gate in Istanbul. He also underlined their main goal of providing opportunities for the TRNC software industry to expand internationally.
The meeting was attended by Presidential International Relations and Diplomacy Special Adviser Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal and Public Relations Consultant Mesut Genç.
