President Tatar hailed as recipient of prestigious “Visionary Award” from BRTK
President Ersin Tatar Receives “Visionary Award” from TÜMBİFED
President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has been honored with the prestigious “Visionary Award” of the year by the Academy, Culture and Science Commission of the Federation of All Bureaucrats and Businessmen of Turkey (TÜMBİFED).
The award was presented to Consul General Fatma Demirel, who attended the ceremony on behalf of President Tatar in Istanbul. Due to his busy schedule, President Tatar was unable to attend the event himself.
In his message to the ceremony, President Tatar expressed his gratitude for being deemed worthy of the “Visionary Award”. He stated, “Although I cannot be with you right now due to our busy work schedule and pre-arranged meetings, I would like to express to you my happiness in accepting the ‘Visionary Award’ that you have deemed worthy of me.”
President Tatar emphasized the importance of understanding the current circumstances in order to shape the future. He stated, “The policy we pursue in order to maintain and secure the existence of the Turkish Cypriots; includes understanding today’s conjuncture correctly. What I understand from the concept of ‘vision’ is to produce a feasible projection of the future with the help of experience and knowledge.”
He further added, “We are happy to see that our work was appreciated with the award you gave us. While creating our vision of the ‘Two-State Solution in Cyprus’, I believe that we have created a tangible answer to the search for a viable solution on the island of Cyprus, based on historical and objective facts.”
President Tatar highlighted the ongoing issues in the Cyprus Problem Talks, which have failed to reach a conclusion after more than 50 years. He stated, “Those who avoid confronting this reality are at odds with reality and science, to the point of claiming that there is only one people on the island.”
He emphasized that a clear vision of the future is essential for tackling political and global issues. President Tatar expressed his gratitude to the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for their support and to the government of Turkey, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for their unwavering support in realizing their vision.
President Tatar concluded by stating, “I want to accept it on behalf of my friends as well.” He expressed his hope that the “Two-State Solution” will contribute to peace and stability in the region, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The “Visionary Award” bestowed upon President Tatar is a testament to his dedication to finding a sustainable solution for the Turkish Cypriots and his efforts to promote peace and cooperation in the region.
