President Ersin Tatar Attends Iftar Dinner Hosted by TİKA in Ankara
President Ersin Tatar recently attended an iftar dinner hosted by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Ankara. The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, Honorary Rector of Başkent University Dr. Mehmet Haberal, as well as officials from TIKA and the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Foundation.
During his speech at the iftar dinner, President Tatar expressed his gratitude to Başkent University and TIKA for their contributions to the International Symposium honoring Dr. Fazıl Küçük and the Turkish Cypriot struggle for freedom and independence.
President Tatar highlighted the history of the Turkish Cypriot struggle for freedom under the leadership of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, and the crucial role played by Turkey in ensuring the independence and establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 1974.
He emphasized the importance of preserving and passing on the cultural and spiritual values of the Turkish Cypriots to future generations, while also acknowledging the global humanitarian efforts of TIKA and the need for continued support in the preservation of cultural heritage in Northern Cyprus.
President Tatar also stressed the significance of charitable deeds in religion, culture, and spirituality, and highlighted the historical role of foundations in Cyprus in promoting unity, solidarity, and spiritual values in society.
Following the iftar dinner, President Tatar generously gifted orphan children supported by TIKA, showcasing the spirit of giving and charity that embodies the values of the Turkish Cypriot community.
