President Ersin Tatar meets with Australian Federal Deputy Dai Le
President Ersin Tatar recently held a meeting with Australian Federal Deputy Dai Le in Sydney to discuss bilateral relations with Australia and the ongoing Cyprus issue. The meeting was described as productive by the Presidency, with President Tatar expressing his pleasure at meeting Deputy Le, who had also attended a festival in Sydney.
During the meeting, President Tatar highlighted the success of Turkish Cypriots in various fields in Australia, particularly in the construction sector and the country’s economy since their initial arrival in the 1940s. Discussions also focused on ways to strengthen mutual ties between Australia and North Cyprus, as well as how Turkish Cypriots residing in Australia can enhance transportation and diplomatic services with the TRNC.
President Tatar emphasized his commitment to a realistic and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, based on the recognition of acquired rights, sovereign equality, and equal international status. He was accompanied by Special Advisor for International Relations and Diplomacy Kerem Haser and Foreign Press Officer during the meeting.
Overall, the meeting between President Tatar and Deputy Dai Le underscored the importance of fostering strong ties between Australia and North Cyprus, as well as addressing key issues related to the Cyprus problem.
