President Tatar Meets with LTB President Harmancı to Discuss New Border Gate Openings
President Ersin Tatar recently met with LTB President Mehmet Harmancı to discuss the opening of new border gates and evaluate the current developments. During the meeting, President Tatar highlighted the need for mutual transitions at the border gates and expressed concerns over the Greek leader’s lack of response to the proposal to open the Akincilar-Klimya Border Gate.
President Tatar emphasized the importance of security in transit proposals and noted that the increasing number of transitions in Nicosia is causing traffic congestion that affects both sides. He also mentioned that the EU officials have shown a positive response to the opening of the Haspolat gate for commercial transitions in line with the Green Line Regulation.
