President Tatar: Presence of Turkish troops ensures peace, security and stability for both Turkish Cypriots and Greeks on the island – BRTK
President Ersin Tatar stated that stability is crucial for the development of a country and the further advancement of the economy. He emphasized that the presence of the Turkish military is a guarantee of peace, security, and stability for both the Turkish Cypriots and the Greeks on the island.
During his visit to Ankara, President Tatar participated in the “Kızılelma” program broadcasted on Bengü TV and shared his views and answered questions. He highlighted the importance of the alliances between the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, despite all embargoes and injustices.
President Tatar expressed gratitude towards President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party for their support towards the Cyprus cause. He also underscored the significance of the alliance provided by the People’s Alliance to the Cyprus issue.
Regarding the Cyprus problem, President Tatar emphasized that a federal solution is not possible on the island and advocated for a two-state solution. He stated that the recognition of the Turkish state and the cooperation between the two states can lead to a successful resolution.
President Tatar also discussed the upcoming meeting with the UN in March, where the Turkish Cypriot side will assert the presence of two states in Cyprus for a viable solution. He highlighted the importance of recognition and acceptance of the sovereignty of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for formal negotiations to begin.
