President Tatar underscored the importance of maintaining the guarantorship of the Republic of Turkey and the presence of Turkish soldiers on the island.
President Tatar advocated for a solution based on cooperation between two separate sovereign states with equal status. He emphasized the need for negotiations that acknowledge sovereign equality and equal international status, supported by Turkey. President Tatar highlighted the historical injustices faced by the Turkish Cypriots and the need for a fair and lasting solution to ensure the independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people.
Overall, President Tatar’s visit to the Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association in Istanbul was marked by a strong commitment to advocating for the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot community and pursuing a peaceful resolution to the longstanding Cyprus issue.
